St. Lawrence College (SLC) specializes in Applied Arts and Technology with three campuses in Eastern Ontario, namely Brockville, Cornwall and Kingston. Before 1060s, it used to be the only college of technology and vocational teaching. The college co-existed with universities in the province of Ontario at the post-secondary level and most of those schools served the purpose of helping veterans reintegrate into society in the post-war years. Brockville was originally proposed as the site for the main campus of St. Lawrence College, but Kingston was ultimately selected since its larger population base would allow it to support a full campus. Today the campus attracts international students from all over the world with courses that have been formulated based on international standards and with a focus on career-oriented skill development.
